We’re building the lending OS Indian banks have been waiting for.
Every Indian bank, co-operative bank, and NBFC we’ve worked with tells us the same story: they’ve been quoted seven-figure global platforms with India FAQ pages bolted on, or hand-stitched their stack across six vendors and a thousand spreadsheets. Neither is what they actually need.
CortexData is the alternative: an RBI-native lending operating system, built in Bengaluru, by engineers and bankers who’ve worked inside Indian credit operations.
Three engineering principles.
RBI Master Directions as design centre, not retrofit.
Most lending platforms are global products with India compliance bolted on. We started with the Master Directions and worked outward. Compliance is the substrate, not a feature.
Explainable ML, not magic black boxes.
Indian credit committees, RBI inspectors, and the Banking Ombudsman expect every decision to be defensible. We use ML where it adds predictive lift — and we keep every reason traceable.
Audit-ready by default. Always.
Every event hashed, every artefact preserved, every decision attributed. We assume RBI inspection on day one — because the institutions we serve face it on day one.
Why we’re building this.
The Indian lending stack needed a rebuild. Not a refactor — a rebuild.
Co-operative banks were running 30-year-old core systems with branch-level Excel for everything outside it. NBFCs were scaling past their original LOS, drowning in co-lending reconciliations. Treasury teams wanted to securitise but every issuance was a four-month bespoke build.
The pattern wasn’t lack of engineering — it was lack of engineering aligned to RBI Master Directions. Global platforms shipped beautiful UIs; what they didn’t ship was an IRACP classifier that worked on day zero, a KFS template that matched Annex II, an audit chain that an RBI inspector would accept.
CortexData is the answer to that gap. We started with the Master Directions. We worked outward. Today the platform spans origination, management, co-lending, securitisation, and CLO — five modules, eight retail products, three languages, one stack.
We’re a small team. We move fast. We pick our customers carefully. We work alongside them in their compliance reality, not against it.
